In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players must embark on a quest to find Tulin, a young bird warrior who could become a valuable ally. The journey begins in Rito Village, but players may struggle to navigate the areas Tulin has gone toward without the right gear. By completing this quest, players can unlock a new ability that upgrades how they move around with the paraglider.
To start the main quest, Tulin of Rito Village, players must first travel to Rito Village in the northwest regions of the map. They can reach the village by traveling east from the Lucky Clover Gazette area until they reach a broken bridge leading to Rito. Using Link’s new ability, Ultrahand, players can build a path across the broken bridge’s gap using parts they find around the area, such as logs from trees.
Once players reach Rito Village, they will meet Tulin before they leave for Tanto Peak Cave. Tulin has traveled to the trees near the top of the icy slopes close to this location, which are difficult to navigate due to the environment’s freezing temperatures. Players should cook Spicy Peppers to craft Spicy Sauteed Peppers, which help Link resist these conditions.
From where players first met Tulin, they should glide toward two glowing red bonfires off in the distance, which lead to Hebra Trailhead Lodge. From here, players can get directions to Tanto Peak Cave by talking to the NPC Harth. However, ascending through the cave past where Cecili has placed a bonfire can be dangerous since many different enemies can freeze Link.
Players must carefully navigate to the top of the cave using gusts of wind to maneuver their paraglider away from the sharp thorns that line the walls. These thorns can be burned down, which helps players get into the cave to begin with. Besides paths of water and holes in the ceiling, players must use Ultrahand and Ascend to move through; another tricky obstacle is an enemy that can climb the walls and ceiling, threatening to jump down and attack Link as players try to proceed with care.
