Latest DLC Rumor for Cyberpunk 2077 Denied by Developer

CD Projekt Red’s global community director, Marcin Momot, has denied rumors about a new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Despite fans’ wishes, it seems that the feature they were hoping for won’t be added to the game anytime soon.

CD Projekt Red is known for being generous with DLCs, as seen with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. The developer has included additional content such as weapons, clothes, cars, and apartments for V to purchase and live in. However, Momot has categorically stated on Twitter that the developers are not planning to add a working subway to the game, despite a Reddit post claiming otherwise. It’s worth noting that a community mod already exists that adds a functioning metro system with 19 explorable stations to the game.

CDPR’s level design acting lead, Miles Tost, explained that it took a lot of polishing and testing with The Witcher 3 to fully immerse mods into the update. Fans are divided on the question of a functioning metro system, with some believing it would add to the immersion, while others already use the existing community mod and see no need for an official version. A third group of fans point to the fast traveling system, saying that even if the subway was added to the game, players would likely use it a couple of times and then rely on fast travel.
