With only two days remaining until the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios advises all early access players to completely uninstall the game to avoid any potential issues on launch day.
For those who have early access saves in Baldur’s Gate 3, we kindly request that you launch the game and delete all save files by August 3rd to prevent any unforeseen conflicts upon the official release. Additionally, make sure to remove all mods and ensure they are not automatically reloaded.
We highly recommend that early access players uninstall the game after deleting their save files. This will minimize the risk of file conflicts when loading the final version of the game, resulting in a smoother gameplay experience without the need for troubleshooting!
Although it may seem counterintuitive, uninstalling the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 right before the launch is the best course of action. Larian has clarified that there are no benefits to keeping it after the full release. Saves will not be transferable, and Larian CEO Swen Vincke recently stated that the version 1.0 release will require a ”complete reinstall” regardless.
