Kamala Harris Calls for ‘Immediate Cease-Fire’ in Gaza
During a speech in Selma, Alabama, the vice president made a plea to Hamas to agree to a six-week pause that is currently being discussed, and to provide urgent assistance to the people living in Gaza.
Hamas has expressed its desire for a cease-fire. There is a proposed deal on the table. As we have emphasized, Hamas must accept this deal. Let’s work towards a cease-fire. Let’s reunite the hostages with their families, and let’s offer immediate relief to the people of Gaza. Given the extensive suffering in Gaza, an immediate cease-fire is imperative for the next six weeks, as per the current proposal.
