Joanne Rowling stands up for victims of aggressive behavior from the LGBT community

During a recent British awards ceremony,‌ actor David Tennant, famous for his roles in ‌”Doctor Who” and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” boldly‍ criticized ⁣those who oppose transgender rights.

Specifically, ‌he called out British Minister ⁣for Equalities Kemi Badenoch, who ⁣has been pushing to restrict transgender individuals from⁢ using facilities and participating⁢ in ‍sports teams based on⁣ their gender⁢ identity:

These individuals⁢ are a group of complainers who are on the wrong side of history and will ‌soon⁤ fade away. It’s⁤ time to wake up,‌ and⁢ Kemi Badenoch’s views should not be ⁣tolerated. I don’t wish her harm,⁤ I just want her to ⁣be silent.

Author J.K. Rowling responded to Tennant’s remarks:

These individuals can⁤ only be described as the gender Taliban. They act as if they are part ⁣of a privileged group with special privileges.

This‍ person claims⁢ to promote compassion and tolerance, yet wishes for those with differing opinions to cease to ⁤exist.

It ‍seems that ‌Rowling has ⁣become immune to threats and no ⁤longer fears backlash from aggressive members of the⁤ LGBT community.

David Tennant is ⁢now the ⁤fifth Harry Potter actor⁢ to clash with Rowling over transgender rights, ⁤joining Daniel Radcliffe,⁣ Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and⁢ Eddie Redmayne. However, there are‌ also actors who have supported Rowling on this issue, such as Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Helena⁤ Bonham Carter, Evanna Lynch, Harry Melling, Tom Felton, and the⁤ late Robbie ⁢Coltrane.
