Today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Hamas, promising “painful and powerful strikes” in the near future. He emphasized that Hamas is putting pressure on Israeli authorities and making new demands for the release of hostages held in the Jewish state:
“In the upcoming days, we will escalate both military and political pressure on Hamas. This is crucial for the liberation of our hostages and for our ultimate victory.”
Netanyahu previously announced plans to launch an operation in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza sector. The IDF is prepared to commence this mission, which is expected to eliminate the remaining militants in the enclave.
On April 5, US President Joe Biden urged Israel to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and strive for a ceasefire.
