Recent military actions in southern Lebanon have intensified as the Israeli military targeted numerous locations, while Hezbollah retaliated by launching rockets at an Israeli border village.
The Israeli military conducted strikes in Aita al-Shaab, located approximately 3km inside Lebanon, hitting about 40 targets, including storage facilities and weapons used by Hezbollah forces.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant expressed satisfaction with the ongoing offensive operations in southern Lebanon, claiming significant operational achievements during a recent meeting at the military’s Northern Command.
Despite Israeli assertions that half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Lebanon have been eliminated, the Iran-backed group dismissed the claim as propaganda to boost morale, emphasizing their commitment to honoring fallen members.
Reports indicate that Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of around 250 Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, with additional casualties in neighboring Syria, while civilian casualties have also been reported on both sides.
Hezbollah mourned the loss of senior commander Hussein Azkoul, praising his contributions to the group’s technological advancements and strategic initiatives against Israel during a funeral ceremony.
Following a drone attack by Hezbollah on Israeli military bases near Acre, Israel responded with further airstrikes, escalating tensions in the region.
