Ahmed Abu Ara and Rafat Dawasi met their demise on Saturday, August 17, in Jenin, West Bank, due to an airstrike targeting their vehicle. Abu Ara was responsible for creating explosives for terrorist activities, while Dawasi held a leadership position in Hamas’ military network in Jenin. This information was disclosed in a joint announcement by the IDF and Shin Bet, Israel’s security service.
The statement also revealed that following an investigation into the Yasin Ganem case, where Ganem was apprehended through collaborative efforts, it was uncovered that Abu Ara and Dawasi were implicated in the terrorist assault in the Jordan Valley on August 11. This attack resulted in the tragic death of Jonathan Doych, an Israeli ex-IDF soldier who had participated in the defense of Kibbutz Nahal Oz during Hamas’ previous aggression on Israel in 2023.
According to a report from Reuters citing the Hamas military wing “Al-Qassam Brigades,” the organization expressed grief over the loss of two of its members.
Prior reports indicated that Ali Jamal Aldin Javad, a senior commander of Hezbollah’s ”Radwan” unit, was also eliminated in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.
