Indian doctors return to work amidst ongoing protests following medic’s tragic assault and murder

Following an 11-day strike in protest of the tragic rape and murder of a ‌trainee medic ‌in Kolkata, some doctors in India have now returned to work.

Despite this, demonstrations persist in Kolkata against the recent fatal⁢ sexual assault at the RG Kar⁤ Medical College and Hospital.

Doctors nationwide halted work, except for emergency services, to demand improved safety in ⁣medical facilities and⁢ justice for the victim.

The Resident⁤ Doctors’ Association ⁤(RDA) at AIIMS⁤ in New Delhi expressed gratitude for the Supreme Court’s involvement and emphasized patient care as their primary focus.

In ‌a‌ show of national ⁣interest and public service, the RDA at the⁢ Indira‍ Gandhi Hospital in Delhi also announced the end of their‌ strike.

The‌ Supreme Court urged doctors to ‍resume work and ordered safety measures to⁣ be implemented ‌within two weeks, while the CBI provided ‌an update on the‌ investigation.

The nation was shaken by⁢ the heinous crime at the RG Kar ⁣Medical College, prompting widespread protests and calls for ‍action.

In response, ‌the Supreme Court established a task force to address the safety concerns of healthcare workers, particularly women doctors.

The‌ safety and well-being of doctors and medical staff is a pressing national issue that requires immediate attention.
