S Tier: These are the strongest spells in the game and will regularly be used on cooldown whenever they are available to maximize damage and progression. Grabbing talents that improve these spells is a must. They will be cast many times throughout the game and the spells that are slottable should be easily accessible on the Spell Sets.
The whole game revolves around Ancient Magic, so of course these would be the best spells to use. Use Ancient Magic whenever it is available on the strongest enemies to take a huge chunk of their health out, you’re also invulnerable while casting. Or quickly dispatch a smaller enemy with a one-hit knock-out. Getting maximum combos and grabbing talents that build the ancient meter faster will make your life so much easier as you’ll be able to cast this spell much more often.

Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming RPG set in the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Fans of Harry Potter have been eagerly awaiting this game, and it promises to bring an authentic Wizarding World experience to their homes. With the November 2021 release date quickly approaching, fans of the franchise have already begun making their best guesses as to which spells will be the most powerful and useful in the game. Beginning with Tier 1, the highest-rated spells are the Hogwarts Shield Spell and the Time-Turner Spell. These spells will prove incredibly useful for defensive and time-manipulation purposes, respectively. The former will allow players to protect themselves from incoming damage, while the latter will allow them to pause or reverse time in a certain area, allowing them to undo mistakes and reposition allies and enemies alike.
In Tier 2, we have the Freezing Spell, Memory Charm and Transfiguration Spell. These spells are all extremely useful, but not quite as powerful as the Tier 1 offerings. The Freezing Spell will allow players to put enemies and allies alike into a deep freeze. On Tier 3, we have the Summoning Charm, Levitation Spell and Impediment Curse. The Summoning Charm will call any object or creature towards your location. The Levitation Spell will enable players to manipulate objects and creatures with their minds. And the Impediment Curse will slow enemies down, giving players a chance to gain the upper hand in combat.
Finally, on Tier 4, we have the purple and green spells which are considered to be the least powerful in the game. They generally do not provide that much of an advantage to the player and are best used as last-ditch efforts against powerful enemies.
