Gina Carano is taking legal action against Disney after being terminated from the company, with support from Elon Musk.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, former MMA fighter and actress Gina Carano is suing Disney for her dismissal from the Mandalorian series, citing wrongful termination and gender discrimination.
Carano’s lawsuit alleges that her conservative views, expressed on Twitter (X), led to her unjust firing. She claims that Disney executives disapproved of her criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement and her comments on the 2020 US elections. She also alleges a double standard, stating that those who supported the Democratic Party and criticized Republicans were not penalized, while she was unfairly targeted for inciting societal division.
An intriguing aspect is Elon Musk’s pledge to cover Carano’s legal fees, as he had previously promised to support individuals facing workplace discrimination due to their Twitter (X) statements. Carano is seeking $75,000 in damages from Disney and reinstatement in the series.
Twitter (X) has voiced its full support for Carano and her pursuit of justice.
