Gina Carano is standing her ground in her legal battle against Disney.
The former “Mandalorian” star and MMA fighter is not giving up in her fight against her former employer, Disney. Carano, who was fired from the series in 2021 due to her social media posts, spoke about feeling “disrespected” and “shamed” after her dismissal, emphasizing that she intends to fight back by filing a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
“I never imagined they would make such a horrible statement about me after working together — the most powerful entertainment company in the world saying these things about me”
Carano also expressed her admiration for Elon Musk, who is funding her legal expenses in this legal dispute.
Reflecting on her career, Carano recalled how she got into Hollywood thanks to Steven Soderbergh’s film “Haywire.” However, her path took a turbulent turn after her role in “The Mandalorian,” which led to a series of controversies and ultimately her dismissal. Despite feeling like an unfair target of attacks and ridicule, Carano remains steadfast and is taking legal action against Disney.
Carano added that the consequences of her dismissal have forced her to reassess her career and personal life. She now lives in Montana.
In 2021, Lucasfilm released a statement condemning Carano and indicating, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and will not be in the future.”
