One individual, identified as Mochalina A., has been taken into custody by the FSB.
FSB officials have apprehended five suspects believed to be connected to the fire that engulfed a Ka-32 helicopter at Ostafyevo airport in Moscow on April 26. According to reports from the Telegram channel Baza, the suspects hail from various regions across Russia: Bulgakov N. (22 years old) from Novosibirsk, Yamskov D. (22 years old) from Norilsk, Khamidullin S. (21 years old) from Novosibirsk, Yakovets R. (22 years old) from the Rostov region, and Mochalina A. (19 years old) from Norilsk.
The Ka-32 helicopter, used for firefighting and owned by the GKU “Moscow Aviation Center”, was in the midst of maintenance when the incident occurred. Items such as a spare shoe bag, a bottle with flammable liquid odor, a toolkit, barbed wire, a scarf, and gloves were discovered at the scene of the crime. A terrorism case has been opened in connection with the incident.
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine has claimed responsibility for the arson attack. In a released statement, the agency alleged that the helicopter was being utilized to support operations of the Russian occupying army on behalf of the Moscow Aviation Center.
