According to SHOT, Alexey Blinovskiy, the husband of blogger Elena Blinovskaya, who is currently in a pre-trial detention center facing tax evasion charges, has decided to enlist in the military.
Reports suggest that he sees this as a way to redeem himself in the eyes of the authorities, secure the release of his wife, and safeguard his businesses. With several of his companies undergoing liquidation and his accounts frozen, Blinovskiy finds himself in financial distress.
Elena Blinovskaya was placed in pre-trial detention at the end of January 2024 after violating the terms of her house arrest, which was imposed earlier. She was accused of organizing a New Year’s party without permission from the authorities.
The blogger, known for her “wish marathons” and personal development workshops, was initially arrested on April 27, 2023 for tax evasion amounting to 918 million rubles. She was subsequently placed under house arrest.
