French Authorities Seize Villa Belonging to Lyudmila Putin, Ex-Wife of Russian President

A stunning villa owned‌ by Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, the ex-wife of Vladimir Putin, has been⁣ seized by the French court. The luxurious property, named “Susanna,” is situated in the charming city of⁣ Anglet in southwestern France. ⁢This legal action took place on December 6, 2023, but the news has‌ only recently come to light.

Reports from Challenges reveal ‍that the villa currently stands empty. ⁢It became the subject of a search during an investigation launched by the Paris prosecutor’s office following a complaint from⁣ Transparency International, a ​prominent anti-corruption NGO.

This magnificent villa, spanning 5000 m² and dating back to 1930, was acquired in December 2013, just six months after Lyudmila and Vladimir Putin finalized their divorce.⁢ The property, valued at €5.4 million, is officially⁤ owned by Lyudmila’s new ⁢spouse,​ Arthur Ocheretny.
