Former Military Officer Turned Deputy Governor of Samara Region Called Back to Active Duty

The⁤ vice-governor of the Samara region, Dmitry Kholin,‍ was‍ served a summons by military command officials to return ‍to the‍ front. An order for his premature dismissal from military ⁤service was deemed illegal and ⁣canceled,‍ as⁣ reported by ⁢”Kommersant”.

If Kholin fails to appear at the military unit within 48 hours, he may face the initiation of a criminal ‌case. The summons was delivered to Kholin in his office for his signature.

Kholin was mobilized in October 2022 and served as the⁣ head​ of the combat training department of the 30th separate motorized rifle brigade⁣ of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army with​ the rank of Major. Prior to his military service, he had a 14-year tenure ⁤in the regional government, serving as the head of‌ Zhigulevsk and a deputy of the Samara regional Duma.

In February 2024, Kholin resigned from military service after being approved‌ by the Samara regional Duma​ for the position of head of the governor’s administration on the recommendation of Governor Dmitry‌ Azarov.
