The vice-governor of the Samara region, Dmitry Kholin, was served a summons by military command officials to return to the front. An order for his premature dismissal from military service was deemed illegal and canceled, as reported by ”Kommersant”.
If Kholin fails to appear at the military unit within 48 hours, he may face the initiation of a criminal case. The summons was delivered to Kholin in his office for his signature.
Kholin was mobilized in October 2022 and served as the head of the combat training department of the 30th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army with the rank of Major. Prior to his military service, he had a 14-year tenure in the regional government, serving as the head of Zhigulevsk and a deputy of the Samara regional Duma.
In February 2024, Kholin resigned from military service after being approved by the Samara regional Duma for the position of head of the governor’s administration on the recommendation of Governor Dmitry Azarov.
