FAA Launches Probe into Boeing’s Dismissal of Safety Concerns Raised by Engineer for 787 and 777 Aircraft Models

The Federal Aviation⁢ Administration (FAA) in the United States is currently investigating⁤ a whistleblower’s allegations ⁣against Boeing. The ⁤whistleblower has raised concerns about safety and compliance issues in the production of Boeing’s 787 and 777 aircraft models. This was first reported by Reuters.

Boeing engineer Sam Salehpour has identified⁢ critical technical issues that could compromise ‌the structural ⁣integrity of these aircraft. Salehpour’s legal‌ team claims ⁤that Boeing took ‌shortcuts to expedite the assembly process of the 787,‌ ignoring Salehpour’s warnings about⁢ potential problems.

“Boeing⁢ chose to prioritize speed to market over addressing the legitimate concerns raised by Salehpour,”

According to reports, an FAA representative ⁣has met with the whistleblower to gather more information.

Boeing has responded by asserting its full confidence in the safety ⁤of its ‌aircraft models, dismissing the whistleblower’s claims as “inaccurate and not reflective of Boeing’s ⁤extensive efforts to ensure quality and long-term safety.”

In⁢ a separate incident in February 2021, Boeing advised airlines to temporarily ground 777⁤ aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW4000-112 engines following an engine failure incident ⁣in the United States. A‌ Boeing 777 aircraft shed engine parts shortly after takeoff from Denver, causing debris ⁤to fall on residential ⁤areas and igniting a fire. Fortunately, the aircraft ‌was ⁢able to return to Denver Airport⁢ safely with no injuries to ‌passengers or crew.

In 2019, the EU also suspended flights of the Boeing 737 MAX model, impacting commercial flights worldwide…
