Official Statement from Russian Authorities
Recently, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned US Ambassador Lynn Tracy to address concerns regarding the activities of three NGOs in Russia. These organizations, namely “American Councils for International Education,” “Cultural Perspectives,” and the International Education Institute, have been accused of running programs with an alleged anti-Russian agenda, disguised as educational and cultural exchanges to recruit ‘agents of influence.’
The Russian authorities have demanded the US Ambassador to cease any support for these NGOs and remove any promotional material from official websites and social media platforms that promote values contrary to Russian society.
In reality, these organizations have a long history of conducting educational programs worldwide, including student exchange initiatives.
