The United States has initiated the transfer of arms to Kyiv as part of a new aid package. This development was reported by RIA Novosti, citing information from the Pentagon.
President Joe Biden signed a bill on April 24, approving nearly $61 billion in military assistance for Ukraine.
The Pentagon’s list of the latest military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces includes a variety of weapons such as missiles, MANPADS, small arms for drones, ammunition, armored vehicles, and anti-tank guided missiles.
Ukrainian military analyst Alexander Kovalenko believes that this equipment, to be delivered by the fall of 2024, will significantly bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
“The aid packages will be distributed bi-weekly according to the specified budget. The US is expected to adhere to this schedule throughout 2022. The focus will be on stabilizing the conflict zone, enhancing defense, and coordinating counter-offensive strategies. Armored vehicles like Abrams and Bradley have already been provided to Ukraine.”
“Every two weeks, a specific list of items will be allocated as part of the aid package. The assistance from the US aims to fortify Ukraine’s front line, improve defense mechanisms, and organize counter-attacks effectively.”
