Compusemble recently conducted a test on a new beta driver from NVIDIA, specifically designed to enhance performance in Cyberpunk 2077. However, it’s important to note that this beta driver is not yet widely available. Despite this, the results of the test are truly remarkable.
During the test, Compusemble utilized an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X with 32 GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. They also operated on the latest version of Windows 11, including Windows 11 Insider Build 26040.
Remarkably, the beta driver demonstrated a 17-18% increase in performance at 4K resolution with ray tracing and DLSS performance mode on the same operating system. Furthermore, the addition of DLSS 3 Frame Generation yielded even more impressive results.
On Windows 11 (23H2), the new beta driver delivered a substantial 13% performance boost at 4K resolution with Path Tracing and DLSS performance mode. However, with the Insider Build, Compusemble achieved an even more significant increase of 23%. Even when compared to the latest publicly available NVIDIA drivers, the Windows Insider build still provided a commendable 7.5% performance boost.
It is anticipated that the enhancements from this beta driver will be incorporated into the next publicly available NVIDIA driver. However, there is currently no information regarding when or if Microsoft will share the improvements from Windows Insider Build with the wider public.
The news of NVIDIA’s ability to increase performance by 17% with the new driver is undoubtedly exciting for gamers.
