Capcom has released the first major update for Dragon’s Dogma II, and it’s a game-changer. Now, players can start a new game even if their first attempt didn’t go as planned. Plus, the update includes several other improvements that will enhance the gaming experience.
The changes were initially announced separately, but they have all been bundled into this one update:
Changes for all platforms
- Now, there’s an option to start a new playthrough even if there’s already a saved file from a previous attempt.
- The number of “Art of Metamorphosis” consumables in the Pawns Guild has been increased to 99 pieces.
- The quest that rewards the protagonist with their own residence has been moved closer to the beginning of the game.
- Bugs and errors related to text have been fixed.
An update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is out now on PS5 and Steam, with Xbox Series X|S to follow in the next few days. This update adds a new game option when existing save data exists, bug fixes, and more.

Changes for PS5
- A toggle has been added in the settings to turn off motion blur, and the option to deactivate ray tracing has also been included. These changes won’t affect performance, but Capcom will address frame rate in the future.
- Players can now choose between two display options – variable refresh rate (VRR) or a 30 fps limit.
Changes for PC
- Image quality has been improved when using DLSS.
- The issue where character models were displayed incorrectly under certain settings has been fixed.
The patch is already available on PC and PlayStation 5, and will be coming to Xbox Series in the coming days.
