Exciting News: World of Goo 2 Release Date Pushed to August 2nd!

Excitement‍ is building for ‌the upcoming release of ⁢World of Goo 2, but fans will have to exercise patience⁤ as the ‍launch date has been pushed back. The highly anticipated sequel from the renowned publisher Tomorrow Corporation and development studio 2D Boy has been rescheduled‌ from May 23 to August 2.

The reason behind the⁤ delay, as humorously stated by the developers, is that they’ve been “pumping too much goo into World of Goo 2.” This playful explanation aside, ‍it’s likely that the team simply needed more time to refine and perfect the⁢ game.

In a recent interview, the creators of the original World of Goo, Ron Carmel and Kyle Gabler, shared that they chose to delay the project significantly⁢ to‌ approach it with a fresh ⁢perspective.

“We felt that ‍if we were to revisit World of Goo, time should have passed there, allowing⁤ us to reevaluate the world as ‌we remember it, not as it truly was.”

Thanks to advancements in technology and the increased capabilities of computer systems, the developers are now able to ⁢incorporate real slime into the sequel.‍ Previously limited to balls and rudimentary water elements, 2D Boy can now simulate authentic ‌slime. The game⁣ will ⁢also feature enhancements in fluid physics and new balls with unique properties.

Gabler and Carmel view World of Goo 2 as their final project as developers, aiming for it to be a success. However, the game’s publicist, Dandy Wheeler, jokingly doubts their resolve: “Alright, calm down, indie developers. We all know ⁤you’ll be back for⁣ updates.”

The announcement of World of Goo 2 was‍ made during The Game Awards ‍2023 ‌ceremony. Initially, the game will be available on PC (Epic Games Store) and ‍Nintendo Switch, with a Russian⁢ translation in the works.
