The masterminds behind the upcoming film version of Until Dawn have unveiled the names of the actors who will take on the leading roles. As revealed by the head of PlayStation Productions, Asad Qizilbash, a stellar cast of emerging talents has been brought together for this cinematic experience.
The talented actors enlisted for the project are:
- Ella Rubin – known for her work in the miniseries “The Chair” and the recent movie “All the Old Knives” alongside Anne Hathaway.
- Michael Cimino - recognized for his roles in the series “Love, Victor” and the horror flick “Annabelle Comes Home”.
- Yoo Ji-young – acclaimed for her performance in the series “Expats” featuring Nicole Kidman.
- Odessa A’zion - known for her appearances in the series “Grand Army” and the 2022 film “Assassination Nation”.

According to Qizilbash, the aforementioned actors will portray new characters in the film adaptation. While the original game by Supermassive Games featured eight main characters, the movie may have opted to streamline the cast. While specific details remain under wraps, it is known that the film targets an adult audience and promises to be a thrilling homage to the horror genre.
The film is a collaboration between PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems, with David F. Sandberg at the helm as director. Sandberg, known for his work on horror hits like “Lights Out” and “Annabelle: Creation”, as well as the superhero film “Shazam!”, is set to bring this adaptation to life. The screenplay is penned by Gary Dauberman, a seasoned writer with credits on films such as “It”, “Annabelle”, and “The Nun”.
Discussions have arisen regarding the absence of the original game actors in the film. Two primary reasons are often cited – the age disparity between the characters and the original actors, as well as budget constraints that may preclude casting well-known stars like Rami Malek.
Meanwhile, Sony is gearing up for the re-release of Until Dawn on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5, slated for fall 2024.
