Recently, the talented team at HoYoverse hosted an exciting stream unveiling the upcoming version of Honkai: Star Rail. The highly anticipated Patch 2.3 titled “Farewell, Penakonia” is set to launch on June 19th, promising a plethora of new features including updates to the Virtual Universe, fresh playable characters, and much more.

Characters and Weapons
Patch 2.3 introduces Star Jade as a valuable resource for acquiring several 5-star rarity characters such as:
- Stellaron Hunter Firefly – fire type with the Path of Destruction. First half of the patch.
- Biological Sciences Expert Zhuan Mei - ice type with the Path of Harmony. First half of the patch.
- Top Manager of the Strategic Investment Department KMM and member of the Ten Stone Hearts, Amber Jade - quantum type with the Path of Erudition. Second half of the patch.
- Beauty Knight Argenti – physical type with the Path of Erudition. Second half of the patch.
Additionally, four 4-star heroes will be showcased in banners:
- First half of the patch: Gallaher (Abundance: Fire), Misha (Destruction: Ice), and Xueyi (Destruction: Quantum).
- Second half of the patch: Serval (Erudition: Electric), Natasha (Abundance: Physical), and Asta (Harmony: Fire).
Players can also look forward to an increased chance of obtaining various 5-star light cones like “Where Dreams Return” (Destruction), “Reflection of the Past Me” (Harmony), “But Hope Is Priceless” (Erudition), and “Stop, Moment” (Erudition). A new 4-star light cone “After the Calm of Harmony” (Erudition) will also make its debut.
Quests and Activities
- In the Exploration Mission of version 2.3, players will embark on the Star Express to the “Radiant Space” where they witness crucial negotiations among various clans, excluding the Oak Clan. This meeting becomes imperative following the abrupt end of the Harmony Festival, tarnishing the Family’s reputation and causing widespread issues.
- The Virtual Universe will see the introduction of the Diverging Universe project, allowing Pathfinders to switch between existing characters. Heroes below the current Equilibrium level will automatically level up, and cone slots and relics will be temporarily filled with analogs. Moreover, a new enhancement called equation will enable the combination of blessings from different Paths. Upon accumulating the required blessings, activating the equation will grant corresponding enhancements to the squad. Players can retry trials in the Diverging Universe in case of failure.
- A new continuous gameplay mode named “Illusion of the End” will be unveiled, where users can challenge bosses from past adventures. Pathfinders must strategically choose enhancements for each enemy during the trial to gain an edge. Upon completion, players will receive Xueyi, a 4-star character, 300 units of Star Jade, and self-modeling resin.
- Within the “Radiant Space,” a new mini-game called “Paper Duel” awaits players. By winning within a set number of moves, Pathfinders can enhance the combat power of the bird. Additionally, battles with friends are also an option.
- During the battle event “Starlight,” players must assemble suitable teams for the trial devices to secure victories.
- Furthermore, an event featuring marks will grant players up to 10 free Jumps.
