Officials have reported that a statue over two centuries old at a conservation site in England was defaced with bright blue crayon marks after activity packs with crayons were given to children at the property. The Sabrina statue, a depiction of a water nymph by sculptor John Bacon, was marked on the face, arms, and torso with blue crayon on Easter weekend. The National Trust, which oversees the 700-acre property at Croome, has stated that it is unclear how the marks came to be or if they were caused by the crayons given out at the site. The Trust regularly runs events for families and often issues pencils or crayons, according to a statement.
