Elon Musk supports gamers in their battle against Sweet Baby Inc – billionaire anticipates Gamergate 2
In a recent interview, blogger TheQuartering spoke with former game director at Blizzard, Mark Kern, who shared insights into the current state of the gaming industry.
Kern discussed the rising budgets of modern games, leading publishers to seek funding from external organizations to mitigate risks. Interestingly, these organizations base their decisions on the ESG rating of the borrowing company. When the rating is insufficient, companies like Sweet Baby Inc are brought in to improve the ESG rating by promoting gender balance, inclusivity, and other attributes of modern woke culture. Kern emphasized that Sweet Baby Inc is not the only organization involved in this practice.
Thanks to the outrage of gamers, the ESG rating has gained a negative reputation among companies and users. Consulting firms are now rebranding, but the method of determining investments in a company still exists.
During the interview, Kern caught the attention of US political figure James Lindsay, predicting “Gamergate 2.” Billionaire Elon Musk also chimed in, expressing his support and drawing even more attention to the issue in the gaming industry, likely creating more problems for companies like Sweet Baby Inc. The original Gamergate took place in 2014.
