During an earnings call, Elon Musk announced that a new affordable Tesla EV is in development and is expected to be available in the second half of 2025. Musk also mentioned a groundbreaking manufacturing system for the vehicle that will surpass all others in the world.
According to a recent article from Reuters, the new vehicle, codenamed “Redwood,” is projected to have a weekly production volume of 10,000 vehicles. Tesla is aiming to introduce two new EV models that could potentially sell up to 5 million units per year.
“Our current schedule indicates that production will commence in the second half of 2025,” Musk stated. The initial production will take place at Tesla’s Austin, Texas Gigafactory, with plans for expansion to other locations worldwide. Musk also hinted at a strong marketing push for the new vehicle.
