The Republican leader flew from his residence in Bedminster, New Jersey, to appear ‌at the Fulton County jail on⁢ Thursday ​afternoon, just one day before ‍his ‌deadline​ to surrender.

Upon arrival, he was⁤ promptly ⁢processed, which included taking his mugshot, marking the first⁣ time in US presidential history that a‌ mugshot has been taken.

The entire process ⁣took about 20 minutes. Afterward, Trump quickly left in a ‌motorcade​ waiting outside the jail. He was released on a $200,000 bond agreement, the highest among all his co-defendants.

While leaving the airport in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump made a brief statement to reporters, denying any wrongdoing and reiterating his ‌right to challenge the outcome of‌ the 2020 election.

“We have every right – every‍ single ⁢right – to‍ challenge an election that we believe is dishonest,” Trump said, providing a glimpse into his defense strategy.
