Many players have become familiar with it thanks to the recently released turn-based role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3, but before that, it was widely known for its own fantasy franchise – Divinity. This year, the developers celebrate the 21st anniversary of this wonderful series of games, which includes projects of completely different genres.
On social media, Larian Studios congratulated everyone involved in the series and devoted fans. Exactly 21 years ago, the unique fantasy world of Rivellon appeared, which was created by a team of talented writers in the first Larian office.
The first game in the Divine Divinity series was released in September 2002 for PC. This project became the first major release of Larian Studios, which later turned into a separate franchise with games of different genres, books, and board games. In total, the developers have released six full-fledged games, in each of which they tried to experiment with RTS, action RPG, and even strategy genres. The latest game in the Divinity series, Divinity: Original Sin 2, was released in 2017 and became one of the studio’s most successful projects, many elements of which later formed the basis of Baldur’s Gate 3.
