The Moscow Arbitration Court has ruled that “Bi Fit,” a company owned by blogger Valeria “Lerchek” Chekalyina, must pay a debt of 22.5 million rubles to ”Tempoline Logistics,” a logistics company. This decision was reported by RIA Novosti, based on the court’s verdict.
As per the court document, the parties reached a settlement agreement covering storage, assembly, shipping, and other services related to the contract. The debt accumulated from the time it was incurred until the agreement was finalized.
In March 2023, Valeria Chekalyina and her husband Artem Chekalin were implicated in a criminal investigation. Allegations suggest that Chekalyina evaded 311 million rubles in value-added tax between 2019 and 2021, followed by money laundering amounting to 130 million rubles through currency transactions. Her husband faced charges of aiding in tax evasion and money laundering.
Preventive measures were imposed on the couple, restricting their activities, including phone and internet usage.
In December 2023, the Russian Investigative Committee’s Main Directorate closed the case after the couple’s lawyer disclosed that over 600 million rubles were confiscated, comprising the undisclosed 311 million, plus 296 million in penalties and fines imposed by tax authorities.
Furthermore, in August 2023, a separate criminal case was initiated against the blogger for “money laundering on a large scale.” However, in March 2024, the case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
Chekalyina herself describes the experience as a valuable learning opportunity, expressing gratitude and readiness to move forward. Restrictions on her accounts are being lifted, and seized assets are being returned…
