Developers from NetherRealm studio recently introduced the first fighter from the DLC pack for Mortal Kombat 1. The list of characters in the fighting game will soon be joined by the powerful superhero Omni-Man, who is well known from the comic book series and the animated show “Invincible.” The character’s <a href="https://news.ad-astra.icu/comparing-the-lethality-of-omni-man-from-mortal-kombat-1-to-the-gory-scenes-in-the-animated-series-invincible.html” title=”Comparing the Lethality of Omni-Man from Mortal Kombat 1 to the Gory Scenes in the Animated Series "Invincible"”>announcement trailer showcased his bloody fatalities, which were compared to some scenes from the animated series.
Surprisingly, NetherRealm Studios decided not to deviate from the vision of the animated show and almost completely replicated Omni-Man’s style in the game. During his fatalities, the superhero can brutally beat his opponent or collide them with a train filled with people, just like in the original animated series.
The developers of Mortal Kombat 1 went beyond simply reproducing scenes from the animated series and recreated some of the moves. Thus, the in-game version of Omni-Man will fully recreate the techniques from ”Invincible.”
Omni-Man will appear in Mortal Kombat 1 in November 2023. He will be available for free to owners of the Premium Edition of the game and the Kombat Pack, while other players will have to purchase him separately. The fighting game also plans to add Ermac, Quan Chi, Takeda, the Homelander from “The Boys,” and the Peacekeeper from the DC cinematic universe.
