When Activision’s systems detect or suspect a cheater, they may deploy a “hallucination.” These hallucinations are designed to disorient hackers and have no impact on legitimate players. The Ricochet anti-cheat team explains that each hallucination is an exact replica of a real player in the match. They move, behave, and interact with the game world just like a human player, tricking cheaters into believing they have encountered a genuine opponent.
