Brussels Summit: NATO Ministers Address Russia-Ukraine Conflict and Kosovo Unrest

Foreign ministers ⁣of NATO countries have gathered in Brussels for‌ security talks while Russia continues its war against Ukraine and ‍Israel maintains a‍ fragile truce with Hamas.

The main focus of⁢ the two-day summit, which began on Tuesday, appears to be the Russia-Ukraine war.‍ NATO Secretary ‌General Jens Stoltenberg urged allies to⁤ continue supporting Ukraine despite funding delays in Washington and Europe.

“I am confident⁤ that the United States will continue to provide ⁢support because it is in the ⁢security interest of the country and aligns ⁣with our agreements,” Stoltenberg said. “I‍ urge allies, who are also committed, to ⁢continue delivering support.”

The US Congress is holding up ⁢$61 billion in proposed⁢ aid to ‍Ukraine, while a $50 billion package from the European Union is facing opposition from Hungary. These funding delays indicate some fatigue among certain NATO ⁢members after‍ 21 months of war, according to Al Jazeera’s Step ⁣Vaessen reporting from Brussels.
