The publication “Layout” spoke with Senior Lieutenant ‌Alexey Chernov, responsible for locating missing servicemen in ⁤the unit, ⁣who did‍ not disclose the exact number of prisoners or how many ‍were conscripts.

When asked about the reported capture of 102 Russian prisoners in Kursk region the day before, Chernov hinted that there‍ were actually more ‌captives than‌ initially stated.

“The number is currently less than 102. We need to verify information through statements or reports from relatives or‍ fellow servicemen identifying a missing soldier. This process determines whether they are classified as prisoners or missing. Right ⁣now, my focus is ⁤on around a hundred ⁣individuals as I gather more details,” Chernov explained.

Chernov clarified that he does not handle conscript soldiers directly.

“While some conscripts may fall⁤ under ‍my jurisdiction, I ‍cannot provide updates on all individuals – their whereabouts and status remain unknown to⁤ me. The Ministry of Defense has established a hotline specifically for conscript soldiers; please refrain from contacting me as my phone line has been⁤ disconnected,” Chernov ‍emphasized.

Attempts to contact Military Unit Commander Petr Bryntsev, 488th Regiment Commander Vitaly Bobryshev, and⁣ other officers were unsuccessful according to “Layout”.
