Xbox and Obsidian Entertainment have made an exciting announcement ahead of gamescom – the highly anticipated role-playing adventure, Avowed, originally set for a fall 2024 release, will now launch on February 18, 2025.
Exciting news! Avowed is now scheduled for February 18, 2025, allowing gamers some breathing space amidst the influx of upcoming titles.

The decision to delay the release, as per the official statement, aligns with recent reports by Tom Warren from The Verge. The studio opted for a later launch to avoid competing with major titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, all slated for the busy autumn period. This strategic move aims to ensure Avowed gets the attention it deserves without being overshadowed.
At gamescom 2024, Avowed will be a highlight of Microsoft’s showcase. While no demos will be available, an exclusive presentation is planned for attendees. Similar presentations are scheduled for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and the expansion Starfield: Shattered Space.
Avowed is set to launch on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series, including Game Pass. More details on localizations will be revealed soon.
