Although the Drow leader Minthara is often encountered as an enemy within Baldur’s Gate 3, there is actually a chance to romance this dangerous woman if your character can align with her beliefs. Unlike other relationships, Minthara does not join your party. This unique dynamic adds complexity to the romance, with more opportunities to make mistakes.
Minthara’s interest in your character depends on the level of Approval she has for you. Approval is earned by making choices that other characters would appreciate, which are usually presented as dialogue options during conversations. In Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, Minthara has taken a stance against the Druid Grove, so the first step to gaining her Approval is to support her in the upcoming conflict.
After a successful raid, your character will have another chance to converse with Minthara at the Sanctum. During this conversation, be sure to mention how “It’s been an honor to fight alongside you” in reference to the attack on the Grove. As new power awakens within your character due to the tadpole in their head, choose the option to embrace this change in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Similar to other romances in Baldur’s Gate 3, the final step is to open your mind to Minthara before attending the goblin celebration at the Grove. By this point, Minthara will have already shown interest in you during previous conversations, but this is where she explicitly asks for your companionship. Agree with Minthara and declare yourself as hers to unlock the romance option with the Drow woman.
A special romance cutscene will occur when you choose Minthara as your partner for the night later in Baldur’s Gate 3.
