After weeks of resistance, X is finally changing its stance and agreeing to meet the requirements set by the Brazilian Supreme Court to resume operations in the country. The company has appointed a legal representative in Brazil, removed accounts deemed threatening to democracy, and settled outstanding fines. However, there are still some paperwork issues that need to be addressed within five days.
According to reports from The New York Times and Reuters, X failed to provide documentation proving the formal appointment of a legal representative in Brazil as mandated by law. In response, X named Rachel de Oliveira Conceicao as its new legal representative. Despite these challenges, X is determined to restore service for its users in Brazil following the blockage at the end of August.
