Sony is set to announce the next batch of PS Plus free games on March 29, and gamers are eagerly anticipating what April will bring. While the March 2023 PS Plus free games were decent, they were overshadowed by the negative reception of Battlefield 2042. However, April is off to a good start.
PS Plus has already confirmed Meet Your Maker as a Day One Essential Tier release. This community-driven building-and-raiding multiplayer game may not have the same brand recognition as Battlefield, but it has the potential to be as successful as Rocket League and Fall Guys. It’s also developed by Behaviour Interactive, the team behind Dead by Daylight, so it has a strong pedigree. The remaining two games are unknown, but here are some good options to pair with Meet Your Maker.
Since Meet Your Maker fulfills the multiplayer space, PS Plus may want to include a narrative-based game that caters to a specific fanbase. Sonic Frontiers would be a great choice for that. In this game, Sonic explores the open zones of Starfall Islands to save his friends and collect the Chaos Emeralds. While it’s unlikely due to its recent release, Sony’s move towards more day-one games like Meet Your Maker on PS Plus Essential and Tchia on PS Plus Extra suggests that it’s possible to consider a newer game. Additionally, many Sonic games have appeared on PS Plus in the past, making it a good fit.
