Warner Bros. Discovery expressed disappointment with the performance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, stating that it fell short of their expectations.
During a financial meeting, Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Widenfels acknowledged that the Rocksteady game did not meet the company’s hopes, emphasizing that it “did not meet our expectations.”
While specific sales figures were not disclosed, Warner Bros. Discovery indicated that the underperformance of ”Suicide Squad” will make for a challenging year in comparison to the previous year, which saw the successful release of Hogwarts Legacy, the best-selling game of 2023.
Given the significant issues with “Suicide Squad,” Warner Bros. Discovery’s assessment does not come as a surprise.
On Steam, the action game’s peak popularity with live service reached 13,459 concurrent players, but has since declined. As of the time of this article’s publication, only 491 individuals were playing the game on the Valve platform, with a peak of 888 in the past 24 hours.
