Exciting news from VTB as they announce plans to expand their presence in Eastern Ukraine! Two new branches will be opening in Luhansk this July, with operations set to begin in Donetsk and Mariupol by the end of the year. According to a press release on the bank’s website, VTB Chairman Andrey Kostin shared, “We are actively recruiting staff, have already started serving clients at the local MFC, and will soon offer a full range of VTB financial products and services in these regions.”
The expansion will not only cater to private clients but also support small and medium-sized businesses, demonstrating VTB’s commitment to serving a diverse range of customers.
In a bold move, VTB has also announced plans to enter occupied Crimea, with operations set to begin in 2022. By 2023, the Crimean RNKB will become a subsidiary of VTB, marking a significant development in the region. Following suit, Sberbank and Promsvyazbank have also initiated operations in Crimea since the onset of the conflict.
