Imagine having so many Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you can bring your wildest terraforming dreams to life. It’s a goal many players strive for, but Nintendo has set a limit on how much wealth you can amass in-game. One dedicated player recently discovered that it is indeed possible to have too much money in the game.
While trying to sell items at Nook’s Cranny, Reddit user no_maj encountered a surprising obstacle. They couldn’t trade their items for Bells through the drop-off box as usual. A pop-up message appeared, stating, “Looks like I can’t sell anything else this way at the moment.” This rare occurrence only happens when a player’s bank account is completely full.
To reach the maximum number of Bells, a player must already have 999,999,999 Bells in their savings. If their character inventory is also overflowing with bags of Bells, they will hit the cap at 1,004,059,998 Bells.
There are ways to become a billionaire in New Horizons, even with a full savings account. By creating an additional user profile on the Nintendo Switch, players can add a new character to their island with a separate savings account capped at 999,999,999 Bells.
Creating a new character not only expands the decorating possibilities with an extra house but also offers a chance to explore new creative avenues. Players can use the additional home space for fictional shops or other attractions, pushing their creativity to new heights.
