American illusionist David Copperfield has been accused by a total of 16 women of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior, as reported by The Guardian. More than half of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents. Shockingly, at least three women have come forward claiming that Copperfield drugged them before engaging in sexual acts.
These disturbing events reportedly occurred between the late 1980s and 2014. Despite the serious allegations, lawyers representing the 67-year-old magician vehemently deny the claims, labeling them as “completely false and improbable.”
One of the accusers, Britney Lewis, bravely spoke out in 2018, accusing Copperfield of drugging and assaulting her in 1988 when she was just 17 years old and working as a model. Copperfield has vehemently denied these allegations. Additionally, multiple women have alleged that Copperfield touched them inappropriately during his performances, often while inviting female audience members onto the stage.
