Chris Perkins, the principal game design architect for DnD, emphasized the importance of avoiding a complete overhaul of the game and instead focusing on creating more user-friendly, engaging books that address current issues. The new books will feature a significant increase in art, with unique illustrations for each of the 48 subclasses included in the Player’s Handbook. Despite the larger size of the books, Wizards of the Coast plans to maintain the same retail prices.
