The upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II campaign is designed for a team of three players, a deliberate choice by Saber Interactive. In an interview with PC Gamer, studio manager Yann François explained the reasoning behind this decision.
François highlighted the formidable nature of the main characters in Space Marine II, making them almost unbeatable. Introducing a fourth player would make battles too easy, as these superhuman Space Marines are already a force to be reckoned with:
“When you delve into the lore of Space Marines – the Ultramarines and
Primaris, you realize the immense power they possess. Standing two to three meters tall with multiple hearts, they are practically invincible. Our team faced the challenge of maintaining a balance to keep the game engaging. Adding a fourth player made it too simple. It was a massacre.”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II is set to release on September 9th on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Players who pre-order any edition other than the standard will gain early access four days before the official launch. The game will feature full Russian localization for both text and voice acting.
