Introducing the digital David challenging the Google Goliath
JEFF GREEN’s journey into marketing began with a challenging experience. As a young adult, he was sent to Ventura, California, as a Mormon missionary, where he faced rejection after rejection. Despite this, he learned valuable sales skills that he later applied to his digital-advertising platform, The Trade Desk (TTD). The company, based in Ventura, now boasts a market value of $42bn, rivaling some of the most valuable ad agencies in the industry. Mr. Green, a former Mormon, has since become a vocal critic of the church and is now focused on challenging Google’s dominance in the digital advertising space. He believes that Google’s decision to phase out cookies is a move to benefit its own advertising platform at the expense of others, and he is determined to level the playing field.
TTD’s primary focus is on placing digital ads in auctions across various parts of the internet, outside the confines of major tech companies’ platforms.
