At the forefront of many people’s privacy concerns is the data collected about them while browsing the web. This data is used to create a profile of a person’s interests for targeted advertising.
Windows 10 accomplishes this through an advertising ID, which tracks your activities on the web and within Windows 10 apps. This ID is not linked to other devices and operates independently of your Microsoft account.
If you wish, you can disable the advertising ID. Open the Windows 10 Settings app, navigate to Privacy, and select General. Under “Change privacy options,” you’ll find the advertising ID control.
You have the option to disable Windows 10’s advertising ID.
IDG
Simply switch the slider from On to Off. While you’ll still receive ads, they will be generic and not based on your interests.
