This inconvenience has even deterred some players from launching games ‌by certain unnamed publishers.‌ Currently, Helldivers 2 players are facing this issue as​ the PC version of the popular third-person shooter will soon require a connection to a PlayStation account.

Starting on May 6, new players must link both accounts, while existing players have until June 4 to comply with this new requirement. Sony claims that this linking​ process is necessary to safeguard players from harassment and ⁤misconduct, allowing them to ban individuals who engage in ⁤such behavior. It’s a classic case of punishing the majority for the actions of a few.
