In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the issue of weapon durability is a major concern, as most weapons will break once their durability runs out, except for the Master Sword. However, there is a way to duplicate weapons to extend their lifespan and ease the frustration. Players can take advantage of glitches that are still present in the game, even years after its initial release.
This weapon duplication trick can be used for traditional weapons, bows, and shields. While the process is relatively straightforward, it does require Link to have the items he wants to duplicate, access to his house and weapon displays, and at least seven multi-shot bows with a lightning arrow in his inventory. It’s also advisable to have some spare weapons that you don’t mind losing.
To get started, Link must return to his home with the necessary items in his possession. Once there, create a save file. Equip a multi-shot bow, a lightning arrow, and the weapon or shield you want to duplicate. Exit the inventory and make sure Link is holding the bow as if he’s ready to shoot. Follow the steps below:
After successfully duplicating your weapon, you can repeat the process to duplicate it multiple times or follow steps 5-8 with a shield instead of a weapon to duplicate that item. Keep in mind that shields need to be placed on a display case, while weapons can be either placed or thrown before being picked up again. If the last bow you equipped was not the one you wanted to duplicate, there are a few extra steps to take.
