UK ‍house⁤ prices have experienced a decline for the first time in six months due to more expensive⁤ mortgage deals and ongoing uncertainty about interest rate cuts. The average home now costs £288,430, which​ is £2,900 less⁢ than last month. The survey also reveals⁣ variations in house price growth across different regions and nations of the UK, ‌with Northern Ireland showing the highest growth at 4.3% annually.

In Wales, annual price growth slowed to 1.9% in March, from 3.9% in February, with‍ the average home now costing £219,213. Scotland house prices rose 2.1% ​year-on-year‌ to stand⁤ at £204,835.

A rival ‌survey from Nationwide building society showed ⁢that ​the average UK house ​price fell ‌by 0.2% month on month in ​March.
